Ben Johnson is a dedicated school board trustee that has served on the Alvord Board of Education for five terms. During that time the district has experienced positive advances in academics and facility improvement at all schools in the district. Ben is currently Vice President of Business Development: The Audit Group.
In addition to his service as an Alford trustee, Ben has a legacy serving our community. He is a committed citizen who has already established himself with a distinguished record of volunteer and community service efforts. His dedicated volunteer work has earned him recognition has the recipient of the Outstanding Citizen Award for Riverside County, and the Volunteer of the Year Award from the JC Penney Points of Light Program.
His service to the community is not limited to the Alvord community. Ben has served in a variety of leadership and service roles including the Vice-Chair of both the Human Relations Committee and the City of Riverside Charter Review; the Board of Directors for the Riverside Community Health Foundation, Parkview Hospital Community Advisory Committee, National Chairman of Diversity & Inclusion-Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, a member of the Riverside Blueprint for Diversity, Raincross Club, a member of the Board of directors for the Youth Service Center; Director of Homeless Outreach and President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Alumni Association.
As a committed community leader, Ben is passionate about his church and his major interests in giving back involve issues related to children, education, healthcare, and homelessness.
Ben continues to focus his efforts on student achievement, school safety, and facility improvement. He has been involved in many community projects such as the International Baccalaureate Program at Norte Vista High School, the Building of the Alvord District Stadium, and the passage of two bonds to modernize current schools and add addition school sites: Rosemary Kennedy, Lake Hills & Stokoe Elementary, Villegas Middle School, and Hillcrest High School.
